Mac and Cheese

Mac and Cheese Recipe
Traveling is hard sometimes, and even with our rituals and traditions, we still get a little homesick. That’s where our mac and cheese comes in. It’s a family recipe that makes us feel content and closer to home.
When I first started learning how to cook, this was one of the first recipes I made. Now I'm going to share it with you. Here is the recipe:
Ingredients:
Pasta (80g to 100g per person; any type, but I prefer fusilli)
Salt
Veggies (any; I usually go with broccoli and peas)
Butter (0.8 tbsp per person)
Milk (0.05 cups per person; any type)
Two types of shredded cheese (40g per person of sharp cheddar or Italian mix, plus 10g of Parmigiano Reggiano)
Garlic salt
Pepper
Steps:
1.
Add water to a large pot and salt it until it tastes like the ocean.
Bring it to a boil.
2.
While the water heats, prep your veggies and gather your ingredients.
3.
Once boiling, add the pasta (80g to 100g per person) and cook for the time listed on the package.
Don't forget to stir!
4.
One minute before the pasta is done, add your veggies and stir them in.
5.
Taste the pasta to check if it's done. If so, strain it and return it to the pot.
6.
Add 0.8 tbsp of butter per person and stir gently so the pasta doesn't break.
Then add 0.05 cups of milk per person and stir again.
7.
(Tip: Steps 7 and 8 should be done quickly to keep the pasta hot enough to melt the cheese.)
Add 20g of sharp cheddar or Italian mix, then 5g of Parmigiano Reggiano. Stir well.
Season with garlic salt and pepper to taste.
8.
Repeat Step 7.
9.
Stir and taste. Adjust garlic salt or pepper if needed.
10.
Serve.
Tip: Tastes great with garlic bread.
If you think Mac and Cheese is just Mac and Cheese …..
