Extra curricular
Ever since we moved to Australia our time-line has been packed; Mondays we have Netball, Wednesday is YABC (I’ll explain what it is later), Thursday is Screen-Acting, Friday is Basketball. It might be full, but it’s really fun.
Netball
Every Monday my sister Abigail goes to netball practice. Netball is like basketball but without a backboard and you’re not allowed to move if you have the ball. Netball practice is 1 hour long and in the meantime my brother and I play soccer and footy in a nearby field. At the end of the practice they play a 15 minute game.
Musical Theatre
YABC was the first extracurricular we did (Young Australian Broadway Chorus). YABC is a singing, dancing, and acting group. We go to class every Wednesday, and our performance is next month. This performance theme is Dance! I’m singing/dancing/acting to Cats, and Call me Madame. Evan and Abigail are doing Footloose and Teen Beach Movie.
Screen Acting
On Thursdays we do Screen Acting, which is a 1 ½ hour class, where we learn about what to and not to do when acting for a camera. We also do scenes or commercials then get feedback. Last time we learned about coming of age movies, which is basically about important parts of life, such as getting a job, or meeting a new friend.
Basketball
On Fridays Evan and I have basketball practice with the “little dribblers”, where we practice shooting at different angles and places, layups, and dribbling. At the end we play a 30 minute game, last time we ended in a tie. We’ve only been once, but I am really looking forward to doing it again.
That’s what we’ve been doing for extra-curricular for the past few weeks, I hope you liked reading about it.
Personal note: I really liked writing this blog post because I got to write about my experience with activities that I do regularly instead of once in a lifetime experiences.
